The EBRAG committee have asked me to circulate a short update on the current situation with Home Farm. If anyone has any concerns please do not hesitate email me.

  • Planning Application 16/10502/OUT - The Hallam Planning Application decision by Wiltshire Council on Home Farm  continues to be delayed (current date is 31 Jan 18). We understand this date will again be most likely slipped. While Wiltshire Planning Department have sufficient information to make a decision, the proposed inclusion of Home Farm (SHLAA site 603) into the future Wiltshire Housing Site Allocation has caused the delay. Wiltshire Planning Department are concerned that if they refuse the application but Home Farm is added to the future Wiltshire Housing Site Allocation List, then the developer may have grounds for legal action against Wiltshire.

  • Wiltshire Housing Site Allocation - The proposed inclusion of the Home Farm site in the next iteration of the Wiltshire Housing Site Allocation, managed by Wiltshire Council Strategic Department, has completed the public consultation phase (thank you to all who commented) and now awaits examination by a Planning Inspector. It is believed this will occur this summer. EBRAG committee have submitted some robust argument on your behalf into the consultation process and have requested to brief the Inspector at his public hearing. We have yet to hear the way forward.

  • Bishopstrow House Hotel - Bishopstrow House Hotel has been sold by Longleat Estates. An EBRAG committee member has met representatives of the new owner and they have stated their company's intention is to upgrade the hotel. It is hoped that they will be more vocal in their opposition to the development than the previous owners.
